Edward Herrmann, the tall patrician actor who played Richard Gilmore on The Gilmore Girls and was much in demand as a narrator and a voiceover for commercials, has died of brain cancer at the age of 71. He was cast as fictional representations of real people many times, including playing Raymond Massey, William Randolph Hearst, Branch Rickey, Nelson Rockefeller, Alger Hiss, Fred Friendly, Andrew Carnegie, Abraham Lincoln, George Bernard Shaw, Lou Gehrig and three times playing Franklin D. Roosevelt. He is mentioned here for his roles in Wonder Woman [2011], Here Come the Munsters [1995], Purple Rose of Cairo, The Electric Grandmother and The Lost Boys, from which this picture is taken. (Warning: This picture is a spoiler if you haven't seen this 27 year old movie.)
Best wishes to the family and friends of Edward Herrmann, from a big fan. He is never to be forgotten.
