Some Siamese cat owners wrote to complain.
I actually know the Siamese cats whom I was unfairly tarring with far too broad a brush.
When I think of the modern Siamese cat that has been bred into something I find unattractive, this is the look I am referring to. The giant ears, long snout and small eyed variety. Does not work for me in any way, shape or form.
The old school Siamese cat is very attractive. Not always super friendly, but good looking without a doubt.
I apologize unreservedly for giving offense where none was intended.
The only person who should have to apologize is whoever the miscreant is who designed the modern Siamese cat to which you allude.
ReplyDeleteI'm old school about Siamese cats, preferably ones with deep whiskey voices, and should I ever have a cat, it would be one of classic models.

Having been coupled up with Tina, an old school Siamese, for eleven years, pretty as peacocks and mean as snakes strikes me as a good summation. Of course, if you were her one true love like me, it was a different story, but woe to anyone else in your life who would try to get between you. And I share your horror of the New Siamese, though it does look sort of strange and pointy like a lot of Thai art.
